16mm single-core building wire on a 100m drum with red PVC insulation. Copper conductor, PVC-insulated, built to AS/NZS 5000.1. Red identifies this as active under traditional Australian colour conventions, common for single-phase active runs at this conductor size.
16mm² red is the typical active conductor for consumer mains on larger residential installations and sub-mains feeding detached structures. Pairs with 16mm² black neutral and yellow/green earth on traditional Australian wiring schemes. Common inside switchboards for main tails between meter, main switch, and distribution board.
Licensed installation per AS/NZS 3000. At 16mm², derating for installation method, grouping, and ambient temperature significantly affects current capacity — verify against the protective device sizing and the calculation method in AS/NZS 3008. Confirm colour identification under the wiring rules in force.
Available as 10m / 20m / 50m cuts. Search SR1160-CUT- in cable cuts.
