Special Orders — If We Don't Have It, We'll Get It For You

What we mean by "we'll get it for you"

Quick Q&A — click to expand

What if you can't get the part? +

We'll tell you straight. On a small percentage of requests — usually obsolete parts more than 10 years out of production, or parts from brands we don't have a supplier relationship with — we can't help. Where we can, we'll suggest a compatible modern equivalent and let you make the call.

How do I pay for a special order? +

Prepaid, before we place the order with the supplier. Card over the phone, EFT, or in person at the counter all work. We don't carry the cost of a special part sitting in a warehouse, which is part of why we can keep the pricing tight.

Can you match a price I've seen elsewhere? +

Sometimes — depends on the supplier and the quantity. Send us the quote you've been given and we'll have a look. We're not always the cheapest line item, but on most special orders the combined number once you factor in freight, accuracy, and turnaround is competitive.

Do you do special orders on cable? +

Yes — custom cuts off bulk drums, full 500m and 1km drums in non-stock sizes, three-phase and aluminium consumer mains in lengths we don't keep on the shelf. Tell us the size, length, and configuration and we'll quote.

We hold 8 categories on the shelf at North Parramatta — cable, lighting, circuit protection, switches and powerpoints, meter boxes, smart wiring, safety and tools. That covers most of a typical install. It doesn't cover everything: the catalogue from every brand we sell runs into tens of thousands of part numbers, and we can't stock them all.

Special orders close that gap. If you need a specific brand, model, size, finish, or quantity we don't have on the shelf, we order it in from the supplier and let you know when it's ready. Same trade pricing, same counter contact, no minimum quantity for most lines.

Who uses special orders

  • Electricians chasing a part to match what's already in a board or fit-out
  • Contractors sourcing for projects where the spec calls out a specific brand or model
  • Sparkies replacing a discontinued component and looking for the modern equivalent
  • Builders sourcing bulk quantities for a fit-out (drums of cable, board kits, lighting packages)
  • Anyone who needs an obscure or legacy part they can't find anywhere else in Sydney

If you've been told "we don't stock it, sorry" at another wholesaler and the trail's gone cold, send us the part number — there's a good chance we can source it.

How it works

Four steps:

1. Send us the part. Call the counter on (02) 9890 9693, drop in to North Parramatta, or email a part number, model code, or photo. The clearer the spec, the faster the quote.

2. We check our suppliers and quote you. We talk directly to the brand reps and warehouses on most of the lines we sell. Usual turnaround on a quote is same-day for in-stock items, 1–2 days for ex-warehouse or indent items.

3. You approve and prepay. Once you're happy with the price and timing, we lock the order in. Payment is up front for special orders — we don't carry the cost while a custom part sits in a warehouse.

4. We notify you when it's ready. Pick up from the counter, or freight Australia-wide on dedicated services for bulk and heavy items.

What we can source

We've got direct supplier relationships across the brands we already sell — which means we can access the full catalogue from each, not just the lines we keep on the shelf:

  • Clipsal / Schneider Electric — the full Iconic, Saturn, MAX9 and Acti9 ranges, three-phase boards, custom switchboard build-outs
  • Hager — full Resi9 range, three-phase boards, surge protection
  • NLS, Connected Switchgear, NHP — full domestic and commercial circuit protection ranges
  • Mercator, 3A Lighting, Havit, CLA, Trend, Telbix, Eglo — full lighting catalogues, including indent specials and project quantities
  • Klein Tools — full hand-tool catalogue, including pieces not on the wall
  • Electra Cables, Wattmaster — custom cable cuts, bulk drums (100m / 500m / 1km), non-stock sizes and configurations
  • Fantech — exhaust fans, in-line fans, commercial extraction
  • Matchmaster — TV and AV distribution, full range
  • Thermogroup — heated towel rails, in-screen heating, underfloor

If the brand isn't on this list but it's on a domestic or commercial Australian electrical job, ask. We'll tell you straight if we can or can't source it.

Typical turnaround

Depends on the supplier and the line:

  • Same-day or next-day — items the supplier holds in their Sydney warehouse
  • 3–5 business days — items shipped from interstate or held in lower stock
  • 2–6 weeks — indent or factory-special items (custom finishes, bulk drums to spec, anything cut or assembled to order)

We'll give you a realistic ETA when we quote. If the date matters, tell us up front and we'll work to it or tell you it can't be done in time.

What we need from you

The faster you give us the spec, the faster the quote:

  • Part number or model code — the most reliable way
  • A clear photo — works if you've got the part in hand but no number
  • The brand and a description — last resort, slowest to confirm
  • Quantity — bulk orders often unlock better pricing
  • Deadline — if there's a hard date the install needs to land by
  • Your contact and ABN if you've got one — for trade pricing on the quote

Send by email, drop a message at the counter, or call us. Photos through SMS to the counter line work too.

Compliance note

Electrical work in Australia must be carried out by a licensed electrician under AS/NZS 3000. We supply the parts — selection, install, and compliance are your responsibility on the install.
